About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Hydrographer to undertake the collection, processing, quality control archiving, reporting and presentation of hydrometric and environmental data in accordance with plans and programs.
What the role will offer:
Install, commission, operate and maintain hydrographic and environmental monitoring stations.
Collect logged and sample data, carry out in-situ tests, collect and prepare water and sediment samples for detailed chemical analysis
Carry out validation, editing, quality control, data management and presentation of hydrometric and environmental data.
Prepare technical and analytical reports on data collection outcomes and activities.
Investigate and recommend sites for new hydrographic stations in accordance with hydrographic principles and practices
Key skills and experience:
You will have qualifications and be experienced in hydrography or practical environmental engineering.
Considerable experience in interpreting data and technical report writing
Good knowledge of water Industry related assets and operations including hydrographic/ hydrometric systems (including Hydstra) and instruments utilised by the Water Corporation.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a small group in a commercially focused team.
Intrastate travel will be required, as is Manual C-Class driver’s licence and ability to swim.
