Salary & Benefits £23,944 – £29,931 (dependent on experience) + attractive pension + quarterly performance related bonus + 25 days holiday + onsite Gym

As you will be required to travel to different YW locations a full valid EU driving licence is essential. 

The role will be based in Bradford.

The Environmental Assessment team is responsible for an exciting programme of work including ecological investigations, biosecurity, delivery of environmental schemes and developing partnerships to achieve wider benefits.

We ensure that the business understands its environmental duties and obligations and we are always looking for the best outcome that balances the needs of the environment and the expectations of our customers.

As an Environmental Advisor in the Environmental Assessment team you will lead or support in the following areas:

  • planning and delivery of environmental (clean water) investigations and schemes working closely with our framework consultants and operational colleagues
  • providing expert advice to the business on environmental issues
  • supporting the development of a robust Asset Management Plan submission, using sound science to inform future investment.  

What skills are we looking for?

A self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational skills. You will have experience of building and maintaining effective internal and external relationships along with experience of project and budget management.

Great communication skills are vital as you will work with a diverse range of people around the business as well as with contractors, consultants and environmental regulators and other stakeholders.

Applicants will have a working knowledge of environmental science and legislation and its application to strategic plans and a good knowledge of the main functions of a water company. Therefore a  degree in a relevant discipline is essential.

Most importantly, you should have a keen interest in the environment and business and want to make a difference to the watercourses of Yorkshire.
