The College of Arts & Sciences at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg invites applications for the position of an academic year (9 month), full-time, non-tenure-track Instructor of Environmental Science to begin in August, 2018.

The successful applicant must demonstrate a commitment to student success, be proficient and passionate about teaching, and be prepared to offer a 4/4 schedule of courses for the Environmental Science and Policy (ESP) Program and our highly anticipated interdisciplinary Sustainability Studies bachelors degree.  Among the courses expected in the portfolio include: Intro to Environmental Science, the senior capstone ESP Seminar, Environmental Field Methods, and one or more of the following: Wetland Environments, Climate Change, or The Fluid Earth/Hydrology. In addition, the successful applicant will supervise ESP interns and Intro to Environmental Science Lab teaching assistants. Teaching during the summer is a possibility.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

Completed doctoral degree in natural, physical or environmental sciences (broadly defined) from an accredited institution by August 1, 2018 with demonstrated achievement in college level teaching and service. Must meet University criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate broad, deep and successful teaching experience in all levels of environmental science.
