Postdoctoral Fellows, Social-Ecological Systems (Urban Green Infrastructure Inventory & Analysis)

Indiana University

Bloomington, IN, US

Indiana University’s Environmental Resilience Institute seeks to hire two postdoctoral researchers, one based at Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) and one at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), to help inventory and analyze urban green infrastructure (UGI) as part of a large interdisciplinary research initiative – Prepared for Environmental Change.

Researchers will work with a team of highly motivated faculty and our community partners to compile a spatially referenced database of biophysical, social and economic data on diverse forms of UGI, including food production spaces, the urban tree canopy, and stormwater infiltration systems, and the public, nonprofit, and business institutions and actors that influence UGI. Researchers will contribute to qualitative and quantitative analyses of UGI costs, benefits, institutions and actors, and optimization for community resilience. Most research will be conducted in Indiana communities. The duration of the positions is a minimum of two years but potentially up to five years.
