he School of Natural Resources and the Environment (SNRE) seeks a Career Track Professor (Professor of Practice) to teach traditional and online courses. This is a 9-month teaching position (1.0 FTE) and is non-tenure eligible, assistant/associate rank with opportunities to advance in rank (Assistant to Associate; Associate to Full), and subject to renewable 9-month contracts. The position principally involves teaching SNRE courses both in a traditional format and online in the fall and spring as well as other varied service related duties. The position begins August 13th, 2018.
The schedule of SNRE courses to be taught will be dependent upon course assignments, which are subject to change from semester to semester. The expected teaching load is 6 courses per year on the main campus for the University of Arizona.
The position will be housed in SNRE, which has strong research, teaching and outreach programs in wildlife and fisheries ecology; conservation biology; ecohydrology and watershed management; rangeland ecology, restoration, and management; global change ecology and management; and arid lands. SNRE is also host to multiple cooperators from both the federal (the USGS Arizona Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, the USGS Sonoran Desert Research Station, the National Park Service Desert Southwest Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, the USGS Southwest Climate Science Center, the National Phenology Network) and state (Game and Fish Dept., Dept. of Transportation, Dept. of Environmental Quality) agencies. Our cooperative extension personnel have strong connections to landowners throughout Arizona.
