A research opportunity is available with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 2 Office Clean Water Division (CWD)/Clean Water Regulatory Branch.
The selected applicant will collaborate with a team of EPA scientists and engineers working on a wide array of watershed and water pollution issues in the New York/New Jersey area. S/he will assess and analyze EPA data to help managers make better decisions to protect regional watersheds. The selected applicant will use data visualization tools to examine watershed-wide trends related to pollution loadings, water quality improvements and regulatory actions.
The appointment is full time for one year and may be renewed upon recommendation of EPA and contingent on the availability of funds. The participant will receive a monthly stipend. Funding may be made available to reimburse the participant’s travel expenses to present the results of his/her research at scientific conferences. No funding will be made available to cover travel costs for pre-appointment visits, relocation costs, tuition and fees, or participant’s health insurance. The participant must show proof of health and medical insurance. The participant does not become an EPA employee.
