Use your skills and knowledge of Papua New Guinea and WaSH to develop a 5-year WaSH Plan and Provincial WaSH Strategy with Save the Children PNG.

Where you come in:
In this five-month consultancy position, starting February 2018, you will build the capacity of a District Development Authority to develop a 5-year WaSH plan. You will also support the development of the respective Provinces’ WaSH strategy which is aligned with Provincial priorities and plan, the Medium Term Development Plan and PNG Strategic Development Plan through the implementation of the National WaSH Policy using the recently drafted implementation strategy.

We are looking for several roles:

WaSH Program Specialist (x2)

Qualifications and experience
Relevant degree. Preferably Masters in water, sanitation and hygiene or other technical fields related to WaSH with proven field experience in developing countries especially areas in capacity building and development of WaSH policy, implementation strategy, WaSH programme design, etc.

Minimum of 8 years relevant professional experience in WaSH Programme design Significant experience of working with government agencies in a capacity building context and a good understanding of GoPNG functions and planning approaches, particularly at Provincial, LLG and Ward level.  Experience of community development in the rural water supply sector

WaSH engineer

Qualifications/experience
Bachelors in Civil Engineering, hydrogeology etc. At least five years’ experience in implementing Rural water supply and sanitation projects in PNG; with focus on design, BoQ and technical specifications. Significant experience in implementation of projects with local governments Experience in applying appropriate technology options.

Workshop Facilitator

Qualifications and experience
At least 10 years’ experience as a workshop facilitator.  Good knowledge of GoPNG functions and planning approaches, particularly at Provincial, LLG and Ward level.
