The Department of Political Science and Geography at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Geography and Environmental Sustainability with an emphasis on climatology, climate policy, environmental policy, and resource conservation. This position supports UTSA’s goal of achieving research and teaching excellence in sustainable communities, renewable energy, GIS and smart environments. The successful applicant should demonstrate an ability to collaborate with such UTSA organizations as the Texas Sustainability Energy Research Institute, Water Institute of Texas, Center for Water Research, Center for Cultural Sustainability, and Center for Urban and Regional Planning Research. The teaching load is two courses per semester. Applicants are expected to teach such courses as Physical Geography, Conservation of Resources, Climatology, Climate Change, Global Sustainability, Geography of Natural Hazards, Physiography, Spatial Analysis, and related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
