About the Business Line


We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Manager/Area Manager for our Water Business Unit in the Hampton Roads Area. The position will be based out of our Norfolk, VA office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with existing clients and develop new clients in the South Virginia and specifically the Hampton Roads area to grow the water/wastewater/water resources/utility backlog in the Mid-Atlantic Region

  • Manage a portfolio of new and existing projects to achieve as-sold, as-delivered results

  • Lead project teams and provide technical oversight to execute projects comprised of locally based staff and staff from other offices

  • It is expected that this role will be that of a ‘seller doer’ with a requirement to develop, win and execute projects in support of the Hampton Roads area

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Virginia Licensed Professional Engineer

  • 15+ years of engineering consulting experience

  • Proven track record of selling consulting engineering services to a diverse group of local, county, city, and regional potable water/wastewater utilities similar in size and technical characteristics to those found in the South Virginia

  • Experience selling potable water, reclaimed water, wastewater and water resource consulting services to local utilities

  • Project management experience

  • Potable water or wastewater treatment design experience

  • Client focused service perspective is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred
