We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Science team as stand in due to maternity leave. The successful applicant will be in charge of the project management of Climate Science related projects conducted at Climate Analytics and will support the Science Team in the coordination and management of the Science Team projects and overall scientific work as well as in project development. The position is based in Berlin, Germany.

Key responsibilities

  • Project planning, management and reporting for the climate analytics science team
  • Provide support in terms of resource planning and management
  • Project budget controlling and monitoring
  • Act as a focal point for contact with funders and partners at administrative level
  • Support the Science Team management in the coordination and tracking of project deliverables
  • Support the team in the acquisition of additional funding sources, especially research grants

Your Profile

  • A master’s degree with an interdisciplinary focus, preferably with a natural science background, or other equivalent qualification
  • Sound experience (minimum 3 years) in project management techniques in the context of science / research projects or comparable operations
  • Experience in budget controlling, eligibility rules and procedures
  • Experience coordinating multi-partner consortia projects such as BMUB/BMBF or Horizon 2020 projects
  • Experience in the development and writing of funding proposals targeting different funding agencies, ideally also EU and national governmental funding
  • Well organized, self-motivated and flexible, with the ability to work independently but also as part of a larger team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent English and German writing and verbal skills

  • Experience with science communication
  • French language skills
  • Knowledge or a profound interest in solving major challenges related to climate change and sustainability
