An exciting 2.5 year post doc position is available to work on a project to examine the iconic Thirlmere Lakes National Park, south west of Sydney (Australia). The lakes have experienced periods of rapid drying and the NSW’s Office of Environment and Heritage has provided funding to investigate the hydrological functioning of the lake system (more details available at: http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/water/thirlmere-lakes-water-data.htm).
The successful candidate will be joining a larger research team investigating hydrogeology, groundwater dynamics and hydrochemistry. The position will focus on surface and shallow groundwater research to develop evidence based hydrologic water budgets over various timescales (historic, present and under climate change). The position also has a 50% teaching support role, which may include tutoring, marking and preparing and/or delivering workshops.
