UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
UN Women Bangladesh Country Office (BCO) has been working since 2012 on CCA/DRR supporting climate vulnerable women from the most disaster prone parts of the country and undertaking evidence and knowledge generation through series of research and studies to establish the importance of gender mainstreaming in DRR/CCA & humanitarian policies strategies and actions, with the belief that such gender responsive DRR/CCA & humanitarian programmes and policies will lead to resilience and empowerment of women and girls. BCO also has been providing technical support to the Humanitarian Country Task Team through Gender in Humanitarian Actions (GiHA) working group to integrate gender aspects in the humanitarian actions.
Reporting to Programme Specialist – Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change, Humanitarian Action, the Monitoring and Reporting Analyst contributes to the effective management of UN Women programmes in the Bangladesh in the area of Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change, Humanitarian Action by providing substantive inputs to programme design, formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. S/he guides and facilitates the delivery of UN Women programmes by monitoring results achieved during implementation and ensuring appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary. She/he works in close collaboration with the programme and operations team, UN Women HQ staff, Government officials, multi and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful UN Women programme implementation under portfolio.
