The Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association (ECWA) seeks an energetic, personable, and motivated professional to guide our Land Protection program. The part-time (25 hrs/wk) Conservation Director will coordinate ECWA’s landowner engagement, conservation transactions, strategic land conservation planning, and stream restoration projects.
ECWA is an urban land trust and watershed non-profit in Durham, NC. Our mission is to protect and restore Durham’s most urban stream and make it an asset to the community. Our land conservation focus is to protect a corridor around the Ellerbe Creek and its major tributaries and restore many functions to the creek.
Qualifications include experience in land conservation, planning, real estate, natural resource assessment, and GIS analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, an attitude of service and commitment to environmental protection. A college degree and 3-5 years of related experience are required.
