Executive Director

London, United Kingdom 🇬🇧

Extreme poverty can’t be eradicated without universal access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene. WaterAid is an independent, global organisation working with partners and influencing decision-makers to ensure everyone everywhere has these basic human rights.

We are a growing federation with member countries in America, Australia, Canada, India, Sweden and the UK, with others on the horizon. WaterAid international has a small secretariat which draws on the resources of these member countries, allowing a collaborative approach, a lean cost base, and an ability to focus on WaterAid’s ambitious global mission. We are looking for an Executive Director – WaterAid international, based in London.

The successful candidate will be highly skilled at building relationships and facilitating senior teams, an excellent communicator, and effective influencer. He or she will have experience of working globally with an appreciation of the different cultural contexts in which WaterAid works. They will have previously worked in a federated or other complex stakeholder setting.

The role requires someone excited by the opportunity to work with member countries to enable the federation to be more than the sum of its parts, and to help oversee the planned growth of new member countries in keeping with the values and strategy of WaterAid international. With a strong commitment to our mission, you will bring senior leadership experience and a collaborative approach to facilitate integrated working across the federation.

This is an exciting time to join WaterAid, as we implement our 2015-2020 Global Strategy with a vision of everyone everywhere having access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene by 2030. If you share our vision and values, and have the enthusiasm and energy to help us carry out our mission, we would love to hear from you.
