Science Policy and Management Analyst

Key Role:

Provide support to the clients science programs, including a variety of projects and topics. Create reports, whitepapers, presentations, and other materials targeted to various internal and external stakeholders. Investigate, analyze, and provide assessments or situational awareness on client

-requested topics and the emerging needs relevant to Earth systems science or Heliophysics, including the study of the Sun, its effects on the solar system, and its applications and policy. Focus on climate change impacts and adaptation and improving the delivery of use

-inspired science and tools for decision

-making. Work in a team to develop, support, facilitate, and deliver program planning, management, and program strategy materials and improvements. Identify and suggest improvements in the client’s management processes and environment. Develop and suggest communication approaches and improvements. This position is located in Washington, DC.

Basic Qualifications:

-4 years of experience with working in a science or technical environment

-Experience with working in a dynamic environment with multiple senior scientists and senior managers

-Ability to be detail

-oriented and display demonstrated analytical and Problem-solving expertise

-Ability to communicate science to diverse audiences

-Ability to handle a variety of tasks and adapt based on rapidly changing requirements, client needs, or competing demand, as needed

-BS degree required

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of NASA Earth science activities and policy issues

-Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: remote sensing applications, climate change, including climate science, adaptation, and mitigation, water resources and management, air quality, disaster prediction and management, ecology and eco

-forecasting, or science capacity building

-Knowledge of the applications of science and technology to benefit society and enhance decision


-MA or MS degree in a Science, Engineering, or Policy field
