About the Program: Integrated Water Resource and Quality Management Program in Andhra Pradesh

The project titled ‘Integrated Water Resource and Quality Management Program in Andhra Pradesh aims at addressing the challenges of water management and water quality in 2 mandals of ASR district and 01 mandal from Anakapalli district in Andhra Pradesh. Implemented by the Vijayavahini Charitable Foundation (VCF), supported by Tata Trusts, the program seeks to implement sustainable water management solutions that can significantly enhance the quality of life for underserved communities in these regions.

Brief Job Description :

1 Community Mobilization:
• Engage with community members to foster participation in water and sanitation initiatives.
• Facilitate the formation and strengthening of community-based organizations (e.g., Village Water and Sanitation Committee).
• Conduct awareness campaigns on water conservation, sanitation, and hygiene practices.

2 Capacity Building and Training:
• Plan and organize training sessions for stakeholders on the operation and maintenance of drinking water schemes.
• Train community members on water quality monitoring techniques using field test kits and other tools.
• Conduct refresher courses to ensure sustainability of water and sanitation programs.

3 Water Quality Monitoring:
• Coordinate regular water quality tests and maintain detailed records of findings.
• Build local capacity to identify and address water contamination issues effectively.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and report any deviations to relevant authorities.

4 Documentation and Reporting:
• Document program activities, success stories, and lessons learned.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain a repository of community feedback and program-related data for analysis and planning.

5 Stakeholder Coordination:
• Collaborate with government departments, NGOs, and local leaders for effective implementation of projects.
• Advocate for resource mobilization and policy support to enhance water and sanitation services.

6 Program Monitoring and Evaluation:
• Assist in the development of tools for monitoring the performance of water and sanitation schemes.
• Participate in field visits to assess program impact and suggest improvements.
• Support the collection and analysis of program data to measure outcomes and ensure accountability.

Key Deliverables
• Conduct capacity-building trainings on water quality monitoring and operation and maintenance of drinking water schemes.
• Ensure households gain access to improved and safe drinking/domestic water sources.
• Train VWSC members on roles, responsibilities, and water management practices.
• Prepare and validate Water Security Plans (WSPs) and Village Action Plans (VAPs) for sustainable water resource management.
• Install community-level disinfection units (e.g., inline chlorination) in identified villages/hamlets and ensure operational efficiency.
• Submit regular progress reports with key achievements against deliverables.

Skills & Competencies

1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with diverse communities.
2. Proficiency in data collection methodologies, data entry, and analysis; familiarity with software like MS Excel, or data visualization tools.
3. Strong skills in preparing structured reports, case studies, and presentations.
4. Fluency in Telugu and English.

Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in water, sanitation, rural development, or a similar field.
• Prior experience with field projects, especially with community engagement or
NGO work, is advantageous.

Qualification

• Any bachelor’s degree
