Field Assistant for Research Project on Plastic Bottle Waste in Bangalore
Description
The Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) is hiring Field Assistants to support an exciting research project titled “From Plastic Bottled to Filtered Water: Leveraging Digital Solutions to Build Consumer Trust and Reduce Plastic Bottle Usage.” This project examines the socio-economic, behavioral, and environmental factors influencing the consumption of bottled versus filtered water in Bangalore.
Duration: 3 months (Feb 2025 – April 2025)

Responsibilities
- Conduct on-ground surveys and interviews with restaurant owners and households across different locations.
- Assist in water sample collection and coordinate with laboratories for quality testing.
- Support data collection on consumer and business behavior related to drinking water preferences.
- Help organize field visits and maintain detailed records of observations and interactions.
- Work closely with the research team to ensure timely and accurate data gathering.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Master’s degree in social sciences, environmental sciences, or a related field.
- Proficiency in English, Hindi, and Kannada.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior fieldwork experience, especially in conducting surveys, will be an advantage.
Remuneration
Monthly Salary: ₹20,000
