Future H2O-B, a B-corp that aims at providing top-shelf science nimbly and robustly to clients who are looking to future-proof their water resources, invites applications for up to two temporary research hydrologist positions, focusing on providing trusted data that will enable stakeholders to achieve a more sustainable management of water resources. We are looking for strong, curiosity-driven candidates who enjoy conceptual thinking and modeling as well as computational data analysis. Graduate students, currently pursuing their Master’s or Doctorate degree, with a background in hydrology/hydrogeology are particularly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in hydrologic simulations, using the Variable Infiltration Capacity (VIC) hydrologic model (or other robust models) at the basin or sub-basin level. The successful candidate(s) is (are) expected to run simulations and analyze data for up to four basins or sub-basins, on contracts of $5,000/basin, with intermediate deliverables.

Candidate profile:

Master or Bachelor degree in Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Earth Sciences, or related field

Advanced knowledge of hydrological models (e.g. Variable Infiltration Capacity)

Experience with data analysis and statistical methods

Outstanding motivation and enthusiasm

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to work independently and self-guided, but likewise within an interdisciplinary research team

Base pay range

$15,000-20,000/6 months
