The Grundfos Foundation has set out to tackle water scarcity, mitigate water-related climate hazards, and address deepening inequality. To lead this transformative change, the Foundation is recruiting a new Head of Programme, Water to join our philanthropic team. We are looking for a team player as many projects run across our three main areas: Water, Research, and Inclusion. Synergies and insight across the three areas are key in our work, why we collaborate closely as a team.
Role description
As our new colleague, you will be instrumental in ensuring the effective implementation of programmes aligned with the Foundation’s strategy. In practice, this means managing and developing a significant portfolio of philanthropic donations, developing and executing strategic plans, building partnerships and evaluating impact. Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for philanthropic programmes and initiatives in alignment with the Foundation’s strategy. Identify priority areas for philanthropic donations and set clear goals and objectives.
- Partnership Development: Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with key partners, including NGOs, governmental bodies, academic institutions, and community organisations. Collaborate closely with partners to co-design and implement programmes tailored to address local needs and priorities.
- Impact Evaluation and learning: Design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess programme effectiveness, outcomes, and sustainability. Utilize impact data, identify areas for improvement, and champion evidence-based decision-making.
- Advocacy and Communication: Advocate for causes supported by the Foundation, raising awareness and mobilizing support to increase the success rate of the activities. Integrate communication and advocacy as key components in programme design and implementation to ensure greater impact and disseminate learning and approaches
- Sector Innovation: Lead efforts to innovate within the philanthropic sector, leveraging learnings from programme implementation and impact evaluation. Explore new approaches, technologies, and partnerships to drive positive change and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of philanthropic initiatives.
- Systemic Change: Drive systemic change by identifying root causes of social issues and developing strategies to address them at a structural level. Advocate for policy changes, institutional reforms, and collaborative initiatives that promote long-term, sustainable solutions to societal challenges
Key skills
- Technical Expertise within the WASH sector: Proficiency in programme design, implementation, and evaluation, coupled with knowledge of relevant subject matter areas (climate, research, development work in general).
- Building a high-impact philanthropic portfolio which can deliver on the Foundation strategy.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to foster effective partnerships.
- Proficiency in impact evaluation and evidence-based decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and advocacy skills to mobilize support and raise awareness.
