Environmental Programs Coordinator

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The purpose of this position is to perform environmental technical and project-related duties for the Brazos River Authority (BRA). This is accomplished by assisting with the development, implementation, and management of environmental programs and special projects; preparing and presenting project related information to outside parties upon request; producing project-related status reports; assisting with the department’s budget; performing purchasing duties and processing invoices; performing research and special assignments relative to environmental issues; performing data analysis and interpretation;; coordinating educational outreach activities with Public Information Office, and citizen groups/stakeholders; assisting the Field Operations Team, as needed; and performing any other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Knowledge of environmental methods and practices. Ability to develop and communicate concepts and plans clearly and persuasively. Ability to read literature, books, reviews, scientific or technical journals, abstracts, financial reports, and/or legal documents. Ability to apply fundamental concepts of theories, work with advanced mathematical operations methods, and functions of real and complex variables. Ability to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental science, or related field is required; a Master’s degree preferred. At least 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SALARY: $60,720 to $70,000 annually. This is an exempt position.

BRAZOS RIVER AUTHORITY, EOE: The BRA was created by the Texas Legislature in 1929 and exists to develop, manage and protect the water resources of the Brazos River Basin. Today, BRA’s staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs.
