This opportunity is within the PRI’s Sustainability team, which is the thematic hub within the organization. The team is responsible for:
Developing PRI’s internal expertise on ESG and Climate themes from the company level to the macroeconomic systemic level.
Raise awareness, provide insights and develop guidance and tools on ESG themes for PRI’s signatory base.
Provide ESG issues expertise into other processes within PRI such as policy, investment practices and stewardship.
The successful candidate will be responsible to support the delivery of services and outputs (i.e. signatory collaborative engagements, investors/company roundtables, webinars, podcasts, briefings and publications) focused on climate physical risks. The successful candidate will also assist with some across team functions.
This is a unique opportunity at the intersection of responsible investment and corporate sustainability and will provide the successful candidate with a range of knowledge and experience in this fast-moving area.
Core Responsibilities
Provide support to the PRI Environmental team on activities projects related climate physical risks and other topics such as biodiversity, nature based solutions, deforestation and water. Responsibilities include:
- Support the scoping for PRI’s climate physical risk strategy by conducting research and analysis through literature reviews and stakeholder engagement
- Undertake thematic research and analyse findings on topics related to climate physical risk such as biodiversity, water and nature based solutions
- Conduct data analysis and use software and tools
- Drafting materials that can be used to communicate with signatories and external stakeholders
- Coordinate activities across PRI internal teams such as the Climate Change and Investment Practices teams
- Build relationships with signatories to maintain and expand expertise of signatory knowledge of environmental issues, practices and requirements
- Build relationships with external stakeholders, liaising and promoting synergies with other investor networks and initiatives and partner organisations
- Represent the PRI in external forums
- Undertake all administrative activities related to the physical climate risks project such as organising investor groups calls and drafting call notes
- Report to Head of Environmental Issues and work closely with Senior Lead, Environmental Issues

Technical Competencies & Experience
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communications skills. Other languages desirable
- Motivated by the mission of the PRI, interested in climate physical risks as they relate to companies and investors
- Confidence to relate to and interact with a wide range of investment professionals from different regions. Ability to network and build relationships
- Strong experience of relevant IT systems (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CRM software)

- Diplomacy, tact, and ability to work well in teams. The ability to foster an inclusive working environment
- Willing to occasionally take notes of conference calls in different time zones outside normal working hours
