This is a permanent full-time career/career-conditional position.

To qualify for this position at the GS-13 grade level, you must possess at least one or all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
BASIC REQUIREMENT:possess a degree: physical or natural science, or engineering that included at least 30 semester hours in any combination of courses in hydrology, the physical sciences, geophysics, chemistry, engineering science, soils, mathematics, aquatic biology, atmospheric science, meteorology, geology, oceanography, or the management or conservation of water resources. The course work must have included at least 6 semester hours in calculus (including both differential and integral calculus), and at least 6 semester hours in physics. Calculus and physics, as described above
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: analysis and presentation of scientific data. Qualifying specialized experience is experience performing hydrologic, climatologic, oceanographic, hydraulic and/or engineering analyses required to assess effects on water resources from actual and proposed water management modifications. You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

Physical Demands: The purpose of contacts is to advise and inform persons, agencies or groups regarding NPS policy, positions, goals and objectives, or to exchange or obtain information on a project. Contacts are essential to gain recognition and support for Everglades National Park and NPS restoration goals and to develop appropriate Park management strategies. Contacts may require tact and diplomacy in dealing with controversial and sensitive issues.
Working Conditions: Work is primarily sedentary in nature. Occasional physical activity is required such as hiking or climbing over rough or uneven terrain during field inspections. Incumbent must be able to deal with the pressures of a large workload, including working simultaneously on several projects. Projects frequently have short deadlines that are often outside the Park’s control. Travel is often required and working long days to attend meetings throughout the sate is common.
The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
