Objective and Purpose of the Assignment
The main objective of the assignment is to update the water balance study.
Scope of Work
The scope of work mainly focuses on assisting and providing inputs in updating the water balance study.
The consultant is expected to work closely with the international water resources specialist.
Detailed Tasks and/or Expected Output
- Assist the international water resources specialist in updating the WBS;
- Update available water resources, encompassing surface water and groundwater, taking into
consideration of impacts of climate change and variability on the water balance; - Update water demands across sectors such as agriculture, urban areas, industry, and ecosystem needs;
- Evaluate water use efficiencies, and identify opportunities for conservation and improved management;
- Provide recommendations for sustainable water management practices in light of climate change; and
- Timely submit required reports by following schedule (including joint reports with the international
water resources specialist):
a. Inception report within 1 month after commencement;
b. Draft report (updated WBS) within 3 months after commencement; and
c. Final report (updated WBS) within 5 months after commencement.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Post-graduate degree in water resources, environment, hydrology, or a related field;
- At least 10 years of work experience in water resources management and hydraulic modelling; and
demonstrated competencies and leading role in water resource balance study at river basin level; and - Experience with ADB, the World Bank, and other IFIs will be an advantage.
Minimum General Experience: 10 Years
Minimum Specific Experience (relevant to assignment): 7 Years
