The role

We are currently seeking an established Regional Director, Water to manage this sector across the Central Asia region. This role would ideally be based in either Astana or Tashkent.

As the Regional Director, you play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic landscape by not only overseeing the day-to-day operations but also steering the direction of the Water sub-sector.

Your responsibilities extend to ensuring the highest standards of operational and technical excellence, navigating the complexities of profit and loss management, and championing the development and mobilization of resources within the Central Asia Region.

With a minimum of 20 years’ industry experience across the water sector, you will play a key role in:

  • Client engagement
  • Business development
  • Managing commercial performance
  • Effectively managing and leading a team
  • Providing input and governance to projects at a technical, project management and/or review level

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • 20+ years in the industry with proven success in Senior Management roles.
  • Expertise in managing large-scale water projects, client relationships, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience with the delivery of IFI funded projects
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline; postgraduate and project management qualifications highly regarded.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and market trends across the Central Asia and South Caucasus regions
  • Sound commercial understanding including previous P&L management.
  • High level communication skills, including negotiating and resolving highly complex commercial, technical and people matters.
  • Well-developed communication skills in English and Russian.
