HR Directions seeks a prospect for its client RTI Internationall for the Water Resources Internship within the RTI Center for Water Resources in the Social, Statistical, and Environmental Sciences business unit.
The RTI Center for Water Resources is executing a project to support the NC Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Dam Safety to assess the overtopping potential of dams in the Cape Fear Basin during large storm events. The project involves hydrologic modeling of nearly 300 selected dams and contributing watersheds throughout the basin.

Responsibilities
- Assist with collection and processing of watershed data
- Set-up and testing of HEC-HMS hydrologic models
- Assist with compilation of model results for deliverables and project reports

Additional Information
This paid virtual internship will take place from May 2021 through August 2021. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. Hours are flexible during business hours, Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled graduate student
- Experience working with natural resources datasets
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience applying water resources models
- Resume submitted with application
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- GIS experience
