The Role:
Our positive reputation in the Water Industry has seen our Water Team continuing to win a large quantity of environment-related frameworks for water companies across England and Wales. Therefore, we are seeking to appoint a Water Resources Specialist, with a focus on Hydro-ecology and Environmental Assessment, at either Senior or Principal level.
This role is not a role for a Water Resources Engineer. We are seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant who has a strong understanding of the links between Hydrology, Ecology and Water Resource Planning and is capable of directing and providing technical input into a wide range of Water Resource Management and Drought Management Environmental Assessments and Risk Analysis.
The role requires effective working with water companies, regulators, planners, developers, design engineers and contractors to achieve positive outcomes for Water Resource strategies and scheme developments. Tasks may include interpreting models and data, review and analysis of statistical trends, undertaking Environmental Assessments and providing advice on impacts, mitigation and monitoring plans for a range of Water Resource and mitigation projects. Technical input into proposals is part of the role, as is coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
The role will be challenging, varied and offer excellent opportunities for technical skill and wider career development.
About you:
You will have experience working within an Environmental Consultancy and working directly with UK Water Companies. You will have an understanding of UK Water Policy and legislation, Water Resources Management and Drought Planning, and will know how the Water Framework Directive is integral to/embedded with Environmental Assessments.
You will demonstrate relevant technical skills and leadership with a strong background in hydrology and links with ecology and will have led various hydrology, ecology or Environmental Assessment Water Resource projects. You will also have regulatory and stakeholder management experience and understanding.
You will have a degree in a relevant environmentally based subject. Learning and Development of our employees is important to us, therefore we offer all employees a personal Learning and Development plan, this includes supporting you work toward or maintaining chartered status or membership to a relevant professional body.
You will have a clean driving licence, and competency in MS Office applications.
