The Role:

Oxfam {affiliate/} is looking for WASH TEAM LEADER who involves direct management of support staff and MEAL staff, providing people management and day-to-day support at the sub-office. However, those staffs will have matrix reporting (close and day-to-day support) to Mekelle’s department heads to ensure adequate oversight and support in delivering the program.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be/have:

ESSENTIAL

  • University degree in engineering (such as civil, and architectures who can lead technical assessment and develop BoQs) or in public health/WaSH-related subject or environmental health science from a recognized academic institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in I/NGO settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading WASH (PHP & PHE) projects in contexts involving IDPs, Returnees, and vulnerable affected host communities.
  • Fluency in local language and English (written and verbal)
  • Experience in Monitoring/management of projects.
  • Demonstrated skills in coordination with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking, proactive in anticipating problems, and open communication.
  • Good demonstrable understanding of WASH particularly public health engineering
  • Purpose-driven, results-focused approach who takes responsibility for her/his actions and holds us accountable. Able to travel to field locations up to 60%
