Role responsibilities
• Perform highly complex engineering designs and hydraulic analyses of bulk water and sewage infrastructure systems (specifically pump stations, pipelines, canals and reservoirs), with key contributions on 3D models, technical drawings and details.
• Produce other key deliverables on projects, such as technical reports, specifications, and bills of quantities.
• Be a team player that is willing to collaborate across multiple disciplines and international geographies.
• Assisting with tenders and bids.
Minimum requirements
• BEng, BSc or BEngTech / BTech (Civil).
• Registered as a Candidate with ECSA.
• 5-8 years’ related engineering experience (on site and/or in office).
• Experience on water infrastructure projects.
• Exceptional understanding of hydraulics.
• Proficiency in a form of CAD software.
• Proficiency in the MS Office software suite (especially MS Word and MS Excel).
• Good report writing skills.
• Ability to multitask and work on several projects at once.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to lead a small team.
• Willingness to travel and visit sites.
• Valid South African driver’s license.
Beneficial requirements:
• PrEng / PrTechEng with ECSA.
• Experience in designs related to bulk water.
• Proficiency in Civil3D, Revit and BIM360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Programming and coding capabilities.
• Experience in GoldSim, PCSWMM, HECRAS and Bentley (WaterGEMS and HAMMER).
• Holistic understanding of broader water management and related challenges applicable to water end users.
• Design integration of teams and disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects or tasks on multi-disciplinary projects. Have a clear understanding of the interface between disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation and civil engineering.
• Understanding project controls and delivery.
• Site / construction related experience.
• Post graduate qualification, especially in field relating to water engineering.
