One of TNC’s primary goals is to cultivate an inclusive work environment so that employees around the globe have a sense of belonging and feel that their unique contributions are valued. We know we’ll only achieve our mission by hiring and engaging a diverse staff that reflects the communities in which we work. Recognizing that people bring talent and skills that have been developed outside the scope of a job, we take a holistic approach to recruitment that considers life experience in addition to the professional requirements listed in our postings. Please apply – we’d love to hear from you. To quote a popular saying at TNC, “you’ll join for the mission, and you’ll stay for the people.”
WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
At The Nature Conservancy (TNC), we understand that the quality of the water we use is intricately tied to the health of the landscapes through which it flows. Our watersheds—the areas surrounding rivers, lakes, and streams—are some of the most undervalued ecosystems on the planet. Today, nearly half of the world’s drinking water sources are significantly degraded, jeopardizing both the quality and quantity of water reaching our communities and cities. However, restoring the health and resilience of our watersheds is within reach. By investing in Nature-based solutions, such as reforestation and regenerative agricultural practices, we can improve water security, enhance biodiversity, bolster community resilience to climate change, and foster equitable development.
The Project Lead for the Mongolia Freshwater Protection Project will oversee various aspects related to protection, science, stewardship, and community engagement within the Mongolia Business Unit (BU). This role serves as the principal contact for the project, collaborating with government agencies, conservation organizations, foundations, the academic community, and local communities. The Project Lead will provide technical leadership and support by planning, coordinating, and implementing management strategies for freshwater and other conservation initiatives. By developing and implementing conservation strategies and employing a comprehensive range of sustainable natural resource management tools, the Project Lead will address policy and practical challenges while securing public and private support for TNC’s conservation priorities.
