Job Summary
The Assiniboine Watershed Stewardship Association (AWSA) is seeking the services of a full time Watershed Coordinator. The AWSA is a non-profit organization that works with citizens, municipalities, government agencies, and other stewardship organizations on a variety of environmental and water management projects and programming within the Assiniboine River Watershed.
Responsibilities
- Project coordination, implementation, and reporting
- Working with ArcGIS – map creation
- Working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher) as well as email
- Spreadsheet creation, data entry
- Public / stakeholder relations
- Farm / field visits for ALUS
- Lead the coordination of field days
- ATV operation
- UAV / Drone operation
- Provide awareness by means of in-person presentations, trade shows, website and other media sources
- Field surveying and GPS point collection
- Grant/Proposal Writing
- Assist in the administration, advertising/marketing, and delivery of the AWSA’s ALUS program
- Assist in the administration and management of WCWAB
- Assist in the administration and management of YCWAB
- Assist in the administration and management of SCRWA
Skills
The ideal candidate will have experience/education in agriculture, resource management, geography, environmental studies, etc. A degree or diploma would be an asset. The candidate must be a leader with a strong work ethic that is dedicated, positive and energetic, with superior communication and organizational skills, and willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in GIS. Experience in non-profit funding and grant-writing is a definite asset. The candidate must possess strong computer skills. The candidate is required to possess a valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License.
