Wetlands International South Asia office seeks applications for the position of Programme Associate.This is a full-time position based in New Delhi at Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).
Job Purpose
The incumbent for this full-time position based in New Delhi shall assist the implementation of the Integrated Management of Wetland Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IMWBES) Project. The IMWBES Project is a Full-Scale, five year, Global Environment Facility funded project of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and United National Environment Programme as the GEF Agency. Wetlands International South Asia is the Lead Technical Support Agency (LTSA) of the project providing technical backstopping to project implementation.
Roles and responsibilities
- Undertake compilation, collation and review of literature to support project implementation
- Support drafting of technical reports, papers and policy briefs based on project implementation
- Support development of various tools, capacity building and outreach programmes
- Write blogs and articles for organisation website, newsletter and other communication product
- Represent the organization at various meetings and fora
- Any other as may be assigned by the Director, Wetlands International South Asia
Essential Qualifications
- Masters degree in ecology, natural resources management, hydrology, water management, environmental sciences, environmental planning and related disciplines.
- At least two yearsā experience in handling similar assignments.
- Ability to communicate clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.
- Proficiency in MS Office Proven technical writing skills in English, Hindi or other Vernacular languages
Desirable qualifications
- Experience of survey and assessment of wetlands.
- Understanding of GIS and mapping tools.
- Understanding of existing policy environment and regulations on wetlands.
Remuneration
The incumbent will be placed in Grade 3 of salary scale, with an annual gross remuneration of Rs. 7.0 lakhs with all perks.
