This includes AMP8 frameworks with United Utilities, Severn Trent Water, Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and Thames Water.

The Opportunity 

We have a newly formed opportunity for a Principal Project Engineer to work on a diverse range of clean water and wastewater engineering projects within our major client portfolios. We are looking for people who are passionate about technical excellence and innovation.  You will join a diverse team with a wide range of skills in delivering exciting projects as part of our Energy, Water & Resources group ideally located in either Leeds, Manchester and/or Liverpool. You will be accountable for providing technical direction to our multi-disciplinary water teams and working in partnership with water companies and Design/Build Contractor clients. In this role, you will help to shape the design and delivery of exciting clean water and wastewater projects ranging up to ÂŁ200M capital construction cost.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for experienced colleagues to lead large design and build clean water and wastewater projects, located in the North West or Yorkshire regions.

The following skills and knowledge are of interest:

  • Chartered with post-chartership qualification, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline e.g. Civil/Water, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process/Water Engineering
  • Experience with projects in clean water, waste water and sludge treatment, as combined sewer overflows, storm water management and water networks.
  • Skill in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and leading client interfaces to deliver successful projects. 
  • Guiding development of design through to the identification of the preferred solution whilst demonstrating excellent stakeholder management skills. 
  • Confident working through outline and detailed design phases to allow the delivery contractor to construct and commission the plant and civil works. 
  • Skill in steering teams of experienced and early careers engineers, consultants, and technicians.
