About the role

Key Accountabilities
- Apply to a high level of competency a wide range of project, contract and grant administration capabilities within a Project Management Office to achieve outcomes for and protect the interests of the department, while maintaining expectations and relationships with stakeholders.
- Deliver, and contribute to the ongoing development of, program monitoring, auditing, site inspections, evaluation and reporting to support and demonstrate effective and efficient program governance and appropriate project outcomes
- Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with internal and external clients to ensure the coordinated development of clear, timely and accurate advice. Includes regional natural resource management groups, government agencies and staff from internal and external key stakeholder groups
- Research and prepare reports, submissions, briefing notes, legislation and correspondence for consideration by natural resources staff.
- Maintain up-to-date advice knowledge of the Standards, Directives, Policies and Procedures, develop operating principles and practices for the business unit to comply, interpret and provide advice on departmental policy that relate to the responsibilities of the position.
About You
- Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams and delivering complex, high-value projects.
- Strong project management experience, particularly in natural resource management or related fields.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- A strategic thinker who can make insightful decisions and drive accountability within the team.
- Ability to adapt quickly, manage resources effectively, and handle high-pressure situations.
- Experience in government or a similar sector is highly regarded.
Role Requirements
- While no mandatory qualifications are required, experience in delivering complex natural resource projects in a government context would be highly advantageous.
- Willingness to travel, including overnight stays, may be required for this role.
