CMCC Foundation is a cross-cutting scientific research center on climate change and its interactions with the environment, society, the world of business, and policymakers. Our work aims at stimulating sustainable growth, protecting the environment, and developing strategies for the adaptation and mitigation of climate change.
Our Institute for Earth System Predictions (IESP) is building the next generation CMCC core models to advance the understanding of the climate system, address societally relevant key questions related to climate science and advance seamless predictions of the earth system from the global to the local scales and from short term to multi decadal time scales in support of scientifically based decision making.
We are looking for a leader who will guide the GOCO Division (Global Coastal Ocean) to advance the R&D activities on coastal ocean forecasting, relocatable modeling, and climate change adaptation. This division contributes to significant initiatives such as the European Digital Twin of the Ocean and the GlobalCoast initiative of CoastPredict. The Division Director will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of all the existing and future developments of GOCO modeling systems and applications. We expect the Director to drive significant growth within the GOCO Division over the next few years and to work with the other IESP divisions in advancing an integrated modelling capability in support of CMCC applications.
