The topic of the research project focuses on the strategic role of regulated flow hydroelectricity in the coming decades (PNIEC, 2023), despite the rapid development of non-programmable renewable energy sources.
The research activity will therefore concern the integrated use of two or more energy sources, known in the literature as “hybridization”, to derive an overall vision that also considers the impact of climate change on energy producibility and on the management of the water resources involved .
The activity is aimed at developing the research topics envisaged for the DS8 spoke “Climate services for risk mitigation and adaptatin” of the Return Extended Partnership “Environmental, natural and anthropogenic risks”, financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU (National Recovery Plan and Resilience – PNRR, Mission 4 Component 2, Investment 1.3 – D.D. 1243 2/8/2022, PE0000005.
