Salary: $88,651 (Step 01) to $115,251 (Step 10); NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.

As a Supervisory Hydrologist within the New Jersey Water Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:
- Serves as consultant and advisor to the Associate Director for Data on a wide variety of surface-water-quality hydrologic issues and problems in the State of New Jersey.
- Serves as project chief for projects in incumbent's field of expertise. This may involve all or portions of writing the proposal, designing the data collection network, interpreting the results of data collected, preparing the report, and financial management for the project.
- Maintains awareness and understanding of the latest state-of-the-art techniques, instrumentation, technology, and software applicable to the conduct of studies and data collection/analysis activities. Conceives new approaches or modifies existing methods of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting hydrologic information.
- Attends scientific meetings and gives presentations concerning studies being conducted under incumbent's supervision and plans for new projects in incumbent's field of expertise. Points out where new data are needed to accomplish goals of proposed studies.
