Offer Description
The following position is inserted in the framework of the PRIN 2022 PNR titled “EO4DEMOC – Earth Observation For Drought Effects Monitoring On Crop”. The project aims to develop a prototypal system for monitoring and managing crop water supply at regional and national levels. In this project, EO products coupled with field-collected data will be used as the basis for the development of a service for mapping and forecasting the effects of drought on crops through machine learning techniques coupled with cloud computing facilities and open-source tools. The project will ensure rapid progress in this field to advance the national context and raise awareness among the scientific community, policy makers, stakeholders and citizens on the sustainable development and management of water supply for agricultural purposes.
