About the opportunity
The Jacobs Water & Environment (W&E) Business faces a number of key market sectors in the UK, Ireland and wider Europe. These are: the regulated Water sector; environmental and consenting services; flood and coastal risk management; ports & maritime There are a total of 2300 employees within this Business with a broad range of specialist skills providing a range of solutions across these markets and a number of other submarkets. The business operates in a matrixed organisational structure where our people and capabilities deliver against project commitments aligned to clients within clearly defined market sub-sectors.
As a Portfolio Lead within our Water Catchment Management & Maritime business you will have a dual function within our matrixed organisation as follows:
- Client Delivery & Margin Growth Accountability : Reporting to the Client Delivery Director for our Water Catchment Management sector, you will be responsible for delivering against pre-defined monthly, quarterly and annual margin targets through the delivery and upselling of a portfolio of projects and programmes against existing and new client portfolio opportunities.
- Operational Support: Working in partnership with Regional/Operational Leadership for our Water Catchment Management & Maritime team, you will provide support and information to help with resourcing, recruitment and people management to (allow our Operations team to deliver the Capability Business Plan and) ensure that our teams are aligned to the needs of the client now and in the future.
Within the role, you will be expected to engage with Clients in your region, but also support the other key leadership roles in the business including Framework Managers, DPEs / MOPs and Operational Sales teams.
The role offers a fantastic opportunity for the successful individual to develop their career at a senior management level across Jacobs.

The key responsibilities for the role include:
- Understand the P&PS, W&E and WCM & Maritime Group Strategies and positively engage with employees in the region to deliver the best solutions for our clients.
- Demonstrate visible leadership across Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
- In conjunction with the Capability Leadership, you will provide highly visible leadership to employees working in your portfolios through regular and effective communications with all staff.
- Deliver the FY Portfolio Plan for the region and cross sell portfolio, including Net Revenue, cash collection, GM%, billable hours, GID and RPO..
- Help attract, recruit and retain the best talent in the industry to meet client and business demands. Cent
- Active regular engagement with our clients in your Region.
- Lead where appropriate specific growth plans, client engagement and key sales pursuits including ensuring appropriate resource are available to support bids and delivery.
- Help with the development and shape of the business to be “future ready”.
- Liaison with other WCM & Maritime Portfolio leads to ensure we are pursuing UK wide opportunities, showcasing innovations, and broadening our offering.
- Leading commercial discussions and managing, monitoring, and reporting of Jacobs performance for the Region.
- Be aware of changes within the industry and modify strategy to suit.
Qualifications & Experience:

- Deep understanding of Jacobs Relationship Based Sales process and corporate governance structure
