Location: Parramatta (preferred) but also open to having the preferred candidate to be based anywhere in NSW where we have a WaterNSW office
Salary: Starting from $150,332 base + super
Tenure: Full-Time, Permanent
What we are looking for:
- A strong desire to contribute your skills and expertise to our business
- Someone who is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent / identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by the community in which they were born, has lived or currently lives
- A commitment to promoting and preserving Aboriginal culture and value
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering or other related discipline as deemed appropriate
- Knowledge of hydrologic / hydraulic / water supply / water quality models and systems through post graduate studies or through experience
- Understanding of challenges in applying modelling to operational water resource management
- Understanding of hydrometric and meteorological data
- Experience in the development and / or application of hydrologic / hydraulic / water quality models as inputs to decision making processes

What you will work on:
- Work with stakeholders to identify technical needs to be able to scope and deliver solutions that are fit for purpose and provide reliable operational solutions in line with business objectives
- Lead the design and build of a broad range of operational water resource management systems for internal clients to assist WaterNSW to meet regulatory, customer and business requirements
- Support, maintain and provide training for WaterNSW existing water resource management operational systems
- Provide water modelling advice and services related to hydraulic, hydrologic, climate change and water quality to inform operational decisions for internal stakeholders
- Review technical reports, and project deliverables, to ensure hydraulic, hydrological factors, climate change and water quality risks are well understood, and any advice is of a high standard of quality and clearly communicated
