Chemonics International invites qualified individuals to submit their resumes for senior leadership positions in the field of Water Security, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WSSH). This call for resumes is in anticipation of future USAID-funded opportunities. We seek experts passionate about making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
The senior leadership team will oversee the implementation, management, and outcomes of the project. They will coordinate with USAID and foster productive relationships with counterparts and related donor program implementers.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide overall project leadership, management, and technical direction
- Supervise technical and administrative staff
- Serve as the primary liaison with USAID and international and regional partners
- Ensure that all project deliverables are technically sound and appropriate
- Oversee implementation of the project’s strategic long-term vision
- Oversee work planning, performance management, and strategic communications
Qualifications:
Senior leadership positions require substantial experience leading and/or implementing complex technical assistance programs or major components within these programs in relevant technical fields, with a proven track record of programmatic accomplishment, professional achievement, management competence, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced degree in a field related to WSSH, including but not limited to management, economics, political science, water engineering, water policy and governance, or water and sanitation
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the WSSH sector; USAID experience in a senior leadership role such as Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, Component Lead, Country Director, or an equivalent role is preferred, but not required
- Technical and management experience in development contexts (USAID geographic code 937 countries)
- Proven leadership skills and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of water security, sanitation, and/or hygiene issues in developing contexts
- Experience with client management and relationship management with counterpart governments
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Willing to travel and work abroad in extended short-term or long-term capacities.
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluency in English required, and additional languages preferred.
