Position: Charity Water Project Coordinator
Reports to: MI-WASH Senior Program Manager
Provide supervision to: WASH facilitators, M&E Officer
Purpose of the position:
Working closely with the WASH Senior Programme Manager or designate, the Project Coordinator will provide technical support to the Charity Water Project in overseeing the field operations, ensuring the effective procurement of goods and services, monitoring of progress, mobilization of field partners, project planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on project achievements and issues encountered related to field operations. He/she will ensure the strategic and successful implementation of the project activities, project models and approaches including Community Led Total Sanitation, WASH in Schools, and Local level advocacy
Plan, coordinated and facilitate the work of the project team members to achieve the project objectives and outcomes in their respective areas of responsibility.
Correct planning and implementation of project activities:
Work closely with the WASH Senior Program Manager and other staff members to ensure that project activities are well planned according to the project proposal, the project action plan, annual targets, project budget, annual objectives, standards and guidelines.
Ensure that project activities are implemented on time and according to plan
Ensure strategic implementation of CLTS, WASH in school, local level advocacy, CQI and its related approaches in all targeted communities
Ensure qualitative data collection, management and sharing as relevant to the project
Participate in the development of annual budgets and action plans, and conduct needs assessments and surveys where necessary.
Ensure that good, respectful and fruitful relationships are developed and maintained with all project stakeholders including communities, government technical staff at regional and national levels, local partners.
Represent the WASH Senior Program Manager in meetings and other events related to the project.
Submit quarterly reports and monthly updates to the WASH Senior Program Manager
Fulfil any other task in line with the mission and vision of WV upon request from the WASH Senior Program Manager, RAM Director or National Director.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
Minimum Qualification required BAC + 3 years in Community development, project management, hydraulic, water resources, sanitation or any related field. Master’s degree preferred
Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field development project implementation, Experience on CLTS, WASH in school is an asset
Technical Skills & Abilities:
Good computer knowledge and practices
Good planning and organizational skill
Capacity of reflection and fast comprehension
Working knowledge in needs assessment and monitoring and evaluation.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Communication skills, Fluent in French, good skills in writing and spoking English
Knowledge of animation techniques
Ability to integrate the communities and health formations
Travel and/or Work Environment:
Office based with frequent travel to the field
The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 30% of the time.
