The Water Group is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer in a temporary capacity to 28 February 2025, with possibility of extension. This exciting opportunity for an experienced project officer to join our Reconnecting River Country Program team will contribute to the achievement of landscape scale environmental flow outcomes in the Murray and Murrumbidgee River valleys. This is a challenging role involving project planning and management, problem solving, strategic thinking, and collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
About You
The successful applicant will lead the scoping, planning and delivery of projects under the Reconnecting River Country Program across Murray and Murrumbidgee catchments. The role sits within the Program’s Technical/Science team and will be responsible for projects involving aspects of hydrology, hydraulics, environmental flows and river management. The successful applicant will be motivated, strategic and collaborative, with some relevant technical and project management experience.
The successful applicant for this position will:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of project scoping, planning and delivery.
- Undertake and oversee technical investigations involving aspects of hydrology, hydraulics, environmental flows and river management.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with team members and external stakeholders.
- Work adaptively to support other teams across the Program.
- Provide accurate and timely analysis and advice to the Manager and senior executive on technical matters, project status and program risks.
- Prepare documentation including written briefings and reports.
- Manage staff to support program outcomes.
