Offer Description
This research project is in the area of time series data management and analysis,
which are generated at an unprecedented speed and amount in nearly all sectors, e.g., IoT, Industry 4.0, precision
agriculture, finance, medicine, etc. Managing, processing and analyzing time series data has multiple facets,
including: data cleaning and pre-processing to eliminate noise and improve data quality; basic similarity search;
advanced analysis tasks such as classification, motif discovery, correlation analysis, and prediction; and indexing
time series in databases. This research project aims at focusing on one of these aspects, by developing and
implementing novel solutions that advance the state of the art. The developed solutions will be experimentally
evaluated using synthetic and real-world data coming from several collaborating partners in the areas of agriculture,
water distribution, and manufacturing.
