Environmental Sustainability Specialist, Ops – Your future role?

You will sit in the Global Sustainability Department of Givaudan under the guidance of the Global Environmental Sustainability Manager – Operations.

The ES programs are focusing on Climate Action, Water Stewardship and Waste Management in our Operations and in our value chain.

The ES specialist-Ops implements the ES strategy and program globally, focusing on internal and external ES reporting, and contributing to strategic programs.

Work is to be done in collaboration with many partners including EHS, Operations, Engineering, IT & Corporate Communications with the other members of the ES team.

This role is open with flexible location within EMEA.

Multiple location: Kemptthal (Switzerland), Budapest (Hungary), Ashford (UK), Naarden (Netherlands), Dortmund (Germany), Vernier (Switzerland), Avignon (France), Sant Celoni (Spain)

Main responsibilities:

Environmental Sustainability Reporting:

• Coordinate the Environmental Sustainability (ES) data reporting of our sites (GHG emissions – scope 1 and 2, water, waste,…) and work with the relevant partners to ensure data integrity, consistency and coordinated reporting

• Be a single contact (SPOC) with the Givaudan Business Solutions (GBS) Team responsible for the ES reporting process

▪ Guide digitalization and continuous improvement on the data collection, consolidation and reporting processes according to the GRI standards and GHG Protocol

▪ Prepare our sites to external audits related to Sustainability data assurance & be the main contact point of our external auditors

▪ Contribute to the Integrated Annual Report, external reporting and internal/external communications on ES-Operations-related topics.

Environmental Sustainability Roadmap Roll-out:

▪ Follow the execution of our Sustainability actions and projects with our sites (on GHG emissions reduction, water, waste,…) and track progress

▪ Contribute to the yearly target setting process for our sites and update our Measurements dashboard

▪ Support our sites in their Sustainability journey by ad-hoc trainings.

Circularity (Waste/Plastic):

▪ Support our sites in identifying opportunities and implementing solutions to increase circularity (reduction of waste for disposal & reduction of single-use plastics)

▪ Conduct analyses related to Plastic & Packaging and support the dedicated process

Required competencies:

▪ Master’s degree in Environmental sciences, engineering or sustainability

▪ At least 3 years of experience in Sustainability, EHSand/or Engineering or Operations

▪ Knowledge of corporate environmental sustainability(Science-Based targets, CDP Climate Change and Water Security, GHG Protocol, CEO Water Mandate,…);guidance and reporting;

▪ Knowledge of the FMCG sector; in chemicals or food processing is a plus

▪ Fluent in English, local language is a plus.
