The vacancy

Job type: Full-time

Location: Banbury, London, Cardiff, or Belfast – you will be contractually based in the office nearest to you with hybrid working.

Hybrid working: You will be able to work from home and come into the office to collaborate with your team(s) when required. We have flexible core hours, and we don’t believe in a culture of presenteeism. We will discuss what is important to you during the recruitment process. 

Salary & Benefits: £51,000 + 10% pension, 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (including 1 to use flexibly), 35 hour working week with flexitime, up to 13 flexi-days, private medical insurance, life assurance, and much more!

The role 

As our new Senior Water Specialist, you will provide strategic steer and leadership to drive action and impact growth across our Water Roadmap, including collective business behaviour change and policy development. Please note that previous experience in the charity sector is not required.

In this exciting role you will:

  • Lead on WRAP’s Water Roadmap and technical strategy to deliver our voluntary agreement targets in the UK and internationally.
  • Identify strategic priorities, evaluate progress towards voluntary agreement targets, and ensure that activities and outputs are well-targeted to deliver business behaviour change and high impact.
  • Identify opportunities for funding and develop and execute a funding strategy to support the growth of our national and international water footprint.
  • Develop strong partnerships with key businesses, government, funders, and stakeholders to position WRAP’s work and continuously develop opportunities for funding, collaboration, and engagement to ensure delivery of the Water Roadmap.
  • Work with government officials and key stakeholders to understand and support further developments of the policy and industry landscape across the UK.
  • Lead and develop a team of four water specialists.

Who are we looking for? 

  • Experience and understanding of water risk in relation to the food and drink supply chain including a good understanding of supply chain and consumer environment.  
  • Ability to tailor environmental solutions to the commercial processes and opportunities of stakeholders to secure funding.
  • Ability to influence, change and impact decisions with both internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to create and present a compelling vision, that motivates others to work towards a common goal.
  • Great communication skills, with the ability to bring together a wide range of stakeholders to drive change, secure commitment and aid collaborative working.
  • An excellent team player with good collaboration and relationship management experience.
