Salary range $113,448 – $131,517 plus super

About You:

You’re a couple of years into your career and ready for a new challenge. We are keen to hear from people with a broad range of experience with hydrological or mathematical backgrounds. Your experience will also include:

  • Strong coding and analytical skills
  • Background in computational modelling
  • Hydrologic modelling
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Skills in hydrologic forecasting, Delft-FEWS, python coding and matlab coding are highly desired

About the role:

Over the past few years Hydro Tasmania has been implementing one of the most sophisticated hydrologic forecasting systems in the country. This system produces inflow forecast ensembles on two timeframes medium term and outlook as well as supports power station dispatch, system optimisation and dam safety management amongst other things. In this position you will play a key role in assisting the business with operationalising the system and integrating it with new and existing business processes.  You will work closely with hydrographic data experts, portfolio optimisation modellers, generation controllers and dam safety engineers to achieve this.
