Job Description:

Actual Media is looking for a passionate storyteller to join our team as an Associate Editor for Water Canada. This new role is suited to someone with 2 to 3 years of editorial and social media experience. It’s an excellent opportunity for an early career professional looking to grow with the company. Key Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Develop, write, and edit engaging content for Water Canada, including new, features, project case studies, social media posts, newsletters, events content, and reports on water industry topics.
- Editorial Management: Assist in managing the editorial calendar, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content.
- Social Media: Lead the dissemination of Water Canada content on social media networks and engage with our audience. Use social media best practices to optimize posts.
- Industry Engagement: Attend and cover industry events, conferences, and meetings, representing Water Canada. Build lasting relationships within the industry.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Actual Media team members, freelance writers, industry contributors, and the Water Canada’s Editorial Advisory Board to produce comprehensive and insightful content.
- New Initiatives: Identify opportunities and drive new initiatives for reaching broader audiences online and in print, such as special features, events, supplements and web products.
- Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team on media kits, promotional materials, and other sales-related initiatives that support the publication and parent company.
- Project Management: Manage the newly launched Top50 Projects report and contribute to the planning and execution of the annual Water Canada Awards and Downstream networking events.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years of editorial experience, preferably in business publishing.
- Social Media Savvy: Demonstrated experience in creating, managing and growing social media platforms.
- Industry Knowledge: An interest in and eagerness to learn about Canada’s water industry.
- Writing Skills: Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an eye for detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as required.

Location:
Office is located at 150 Eglinton Ave. East. The successful applicant will be expected to be in the office 1-2 days per week, attend 2 strategic planning sessions per year, and be prepared to represent Water Canada at industry events in Canada and the US.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
