What you do as a Medior Consultant Water Strategy for Industry
You will be part of our team that advises and guides industries on their sustainability goals and targets on water and related topics like energy and biodiversity. You will be working on water stewardship and water footprint assessments, water circularity studies, water master planning, corporate reporting on water (including CSRD) and developing business cases to guide investment strategies on water. Positivity, and true cost of water are familiar concepts to you, and you feel comfortable to apply and tailor these according to the client’s needs.
Your role will, depending on your experience, involve consultancy, supporting business development (including proposal writing), and project management (overseeing teams, planning and budget). As a Medior Consultant Water Strategy for Industry you will be working as part of our growing Team Water Strategy in our Advisory Group Water for Industry as part of the Business Line Water & Maritime. The advisory group consists of 40 colleagues tasked with serving the water-related needs of our industrial clients. The Team Water Strategy spearheads our corporate water strategy services for our industrial clients. We work closely with our Team Compliance and Team Water Technology and it is our preference that you understand and have knowledge of these fields as well. As a global company, you will be working with colleagues from other groups, business lines, and regional offices on guiding our industrial clients on their sustainability journey in relation to water. You will be working from our office in Amersfoort (The Netherlands) at least 3 days per week with the possibility to work for several days from other RHDHV offices in The Netherlands.
What you bring

You can connect your water expertise with topics such as circularity, biodiversity, energy (transition), etc. and raise this to a strategic level for our industrial and corporate clients. To be successful in the role of Medior Consultant Water Strategy for Industry, you have the following qualities:
- Relevant educational background (MSc), such as Water Resources Management, Environmental Resources Management, Environmental Economics, Environmental Studies or other comparable studies
- > 4 years relevant work experience, preferably in an international setting, working with industries and corporate clients.
- Knowledge and experience of business strategy and operations, with either a financial background and/or experience in the field of water strategy, impact measurement, and non-financial reporting
- Passion for helping clients improve their sustainability in relation to water and climate targets and a keen interest in helping clients better understand, measure, quantify, and formulate the (long-term) value they create in relation to water and climate
- Ability to learn and quickly understand new concepts outside your area of expertise, think strategically, and implement practical solutions
- You think in terms of solutions, you are pragmatic, enterprising, people and result-oriented
- Good interpersonal and preferably project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and reporting in English. Understanding of the Dutch language is a preference
- Ability to network effectively and build relationships with clients
- Ability to contribute to proposal development and bringing in new opportunities from your own network and experience
- Ability to work in The Netherlands
