The annual salary range for this role is $70,000-$75,000 in New York.

The Food and Water team has worked on initiatives for a decade and a half, galvanizing multi-sectoral leadership to support collective regional and country-led action, while advancing global insight and policy to accelerate food systems transformation and water security and equity to meet the needs of people and the planet – Food and Water Team Impact.
The food and water agenda has three strategic tracks:
Finance and Incentives for Regenerative and Climate Adaptive Value Chains Innovation and Technology Ecosystems Public Private Partnerships to support country pathways
Under the second pillar of innovation and technology ecosystems, the Food Innovation Hubs (FIH) global initiative, launched in 2021, has been catalyzed by the World Economic Forum and several public, private, and civil society stakeholders to strengthen innovation ecosystems for the food systems transformation. The initiative aims to drive relevant high-end and low-cost inclusive innovation to achieve a scalable impact and meet the needs of food systems stakeholders. Initially, we have focused on developing pace-setter Innovation Hubs that drive multistakeholder action in Colombia, Europe, India, Kenya, Vietnam and UAE, connected by a global Food Innovators Network.
The CNC seeks a Community Coordinator for the Food and Water team to support team operations and provide dedicated programmatic support to the innovation and technology programmes.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
The Coordinator role reports to the Food Initiatives and Partnerships Manager based in Geneva, while also receiving guidance from the Head of the team based in New York. This role will collaborate across the organization with a broad set of teams , such as teams with the Centre for Nature and Climate, Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, UpLink, Food Action Alliance, Global Programming Group, Hospitality, Events, Business and Government Relations, and others.
Breakdown of main responsibilities
Team Operations and Events:
- Support the Food and Water team’s participation in events and workshops, including registration and agenda coordination, as well as coordinating and communicating event logistics and delivery.
- Contribute to the planning and coordination of key leadership meetings. Support the creation of background materials and content and support strategy and workplan development, as applicable.
- Align and collaborate internally with the Food and Water team, and with other teams across the organization as applicable for successful delivery of key milestones and workshops.
- Coordinate the preparation of the Food and Water team’s communication documents and core knowledge products. Contribute to the development of briefing materials for internal and external use.
- Handle routine external inquiries, demonstrating an understanding of the team’s breadth of work and relevant point of contacts.
Team Coordination and Administration:
- Operate as the point of contact to coordinate Forum-wide internal processes for the Food Innovation Hubs and Food and Water team, communicating changes to the team regarding new procedures and tools.
- Support grants management with key donors of the Food Innovation Hubs in terms of reports, event engagement, and other needs.
- For the Food Innovation Hubs, maintain internal databases, knowledge tools, and team records, including onboarding processes for new team members (staff and Fellows).
- Provide general administrative support to the overall Food and Water team Head, including scheduling, planning, and executing meetings.
Preferred Requirements and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, Master’s a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in coordination, administration, and/or event management related work in a demanding professional environment.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about food systems and water security and equity.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate confidently with and manage expectations of executives and their staff.
- Strong degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel). Salesforce/CRM experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.
- Responsible, independent, and self-driven with a strong work ethic.
- Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- An enthusiasm to collaborate with people from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds and a flexible team player.
- Alignment with and enthusiasm for the Forum’s mission.
- Knowledge of languages in addition to English, a plus.
