Responsible for:

Driving the achievement of neverthirst’s program strategy for the region:

  • Managing partners to provide sustained access to lasting and living water
  • Developing new programs with current and potential partners
  • Assisting the development team with creating and collecting content

Role Priorities

1. Managing partners to provide sustained access to lasting and living water

  • Assume responsibility that WASH and holistic transformation programs implemented by partners reach outputs and are on target with medium-term outcomes
  • Review annual proposals and budgets from partners
  • Identify and address areas of organizational and programmatic capacity building needs of partners
  • Conduct planning and monitoring visits with partners
  • Coach partners on neverthirst standards and software platforms
  • Operate as the main point of contact between partners and neverthirst

2. Developing new programs with current and potential partners

  • Network and understand current trends and best practices in WASH sector
  • Identify and vet new potential partner organizations
  • Lead development of pilot initiatives and new programs and interventions with partners
  • Coordinate with Head of Programs and Director of Program Quality on preparing partners for scaling up programming

3. Assisting the development team with logistics support and content

  • Prepare program updates to the Development team
  • Contribute ideas and resources to Development team
  • Plan (and if needed, host) visiting teams/staff/contractors
  • Provide content for donors and foundations

Annual Deliverables

  • 100% of grant funded water points are reported within the 12-month grant period.
  • Water point tracking for all grant funded water points reviewed monthly. Ensure tracking is correctly updated and approve the upcoming funds transfer.
  • At the beginning of each funding grant cycle (January or July) set the annual goals for each indicator with each partner. Track progress each quarter and work with the partner to identify changes needed to achieve or reset goals.
  • Identify and put in place strategies to grow organizational capacity of partners
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings with partners, drafting meeting minutes and and monitoring action items from both the partner and neverthirst.
  • Review water quality results from a sample of projects each year compared to neverthirst protocols
  • Prepare quarterly updates for each funded program to the Development team
  • Proactively update the Engagement Director on any significant issues that are or may impact completion of water points
  • Travel to partners for the purpose of program review, monitoring, communications, program planning and growing partner relationships, and complete post-trip report.
  • Travel for the purpose of assessing new potential partners
  • Annually train partners in neverthirst program standards, including onboarding of new partners.
  • annual funding proposals and budgets are prepared and thoroughly reviewed prior to submission
  • Contribute to the evaluation of funded programs when requested (planning, hosting)
  • Plan and host communications staff and contractors when requested (planning, hosting)
  • When required, plan the program, budget, local logistics and lead donor teams

Competencies

Essential

  • Committed Christian
  • Undergraduate degree with 5+ years of work experience, or graduate degree with 2+ years of work experience
  • 3+ years experience working in a cross-cultural environment
  • 3+ years experience with WASH programming
  • Ability to work effectively in a small, friendly, and hard-working team
  • Flexibility, self-motivation, and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with local partners
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Willingness to travel to low- and middle-income countries
  • Willingness to have calls outside of regular working hours
  • Willingness to learn and adapt

Desired

  • Academic background in a relevant discipline
  • 6+ years experience working in a cross-cultural environment
  • 6+ years experience with WASH programming
  • 3+ years in design and implementation of WASH infrastructure
  • Relevant experience in South/South-East Asian context
  • Lived or significant time spent in South/South-East Asian countries
  • Lead/organized teams on project visits
  • Strong personal network in the WASH sector
  • Experience in holistic transformation programming
